No, we do not perform recruiting services. However, we are similar to a staffing firm in that we put the consultant on our payroll as a W2 employee. That means the IRS regards us a legal Employer of Record for you. It also means that you can concentrate on what you do best — work with your project or team, and we will cover your back office details.

Consultant First will provide you with a timesheet to fill out. Just fill in the date and the number of hours, get supervisory approval and email us the approved copy. We take if from there for you.

We sure do. In fact the vast majority of our consultants prefer to be paid via direct deposit.

First, we talk and get to know each other. If we both decide that we fit well together, then we send you the necessary forms to fill out. We try to make it as easy as possible to become a consultant with Consultants First. Then, we’ll take it from there to get you set up with your new contract.

We work with most kinds of technical and professional workers including: Engineers, IT Professionals, High-Tech Technicians, Software Developers, etc.

No. There is NO monthly fee or annual fee. Period. Our fee is earned when a company uses your services as a consultant while you are listed as our W2 employee. In other words, we only make money when you make money. When you get paid, we get paid using an agreed upon fee structure. It’s as simple as that.

While you work with a company on a contract basis, we handle all the administrative details and employment tasks (think paperwork). These are things you would normally have to do on your own as a consultant. Visit our “Services” page for a more detailed list of what we do for you.

As an Employer of Record, we serve as your employer for tax purposes and also for insurance reasons. That means that we handle all the administration functions and insurances (think taxes, timesheets, W2, unemployment, etc.). That allows you, as a consultant, to focus on what you do best — while we back you up by working on the back office details.

Absolutely! Many of our consultants are working at this for the first time. We provide a personal touch, along with added know-how, to get you smoothly through the process of getting paid. Plus, we can offer advice based on our own ongoing consulting experience.
